I'll be honest and admit that (on a personal level) I hadn't quite bought into the whole "parkrun" thing. It's obviously an amazing initiative and as soon as I was aware of it I signed up for the newsletter and checked out the impressive weekly participation figures (the current record is just over 22,000 from Saturday 8 September), but I wasn't convinced I'd actually do one, more out of laziness than anything else; a 9am start on what can be a rare Saturday off just wasn't massively appealing.

The new look runbritain website went live this morning at www.runbritain.com The site accentuates runbritain's core offerings of race calendar, free online entry service, Race Director's Portal and the runbritain handicap scoring section, but key is the full integration of the new look Sennheiser Training Zone which has been populated with new advice and more training schedules throughout the summer.

Bruce and Carter win Oxford Half Marathon 2012

The Oxford Half Marathon, which took place on Sunday 14 October, enjoyed clear blue skies with sunshine, a well received new route and an amazing stadium finish which led to some fantastic results including a large number of PB times.

Close call as Skinner and Tamirat take 2012 runbritain Grand Prix victories

Paul Martelletti and Amy Whitehead took the UK Half Marathon Championship honours with their respective victories in the Perkins Great Eastern Run in Peterborough on Sunday (14 October), the fifth and final race of the 2012 runbritain Grand Prix, but the overall Grand Prix titles went to Mike Skinner and Getenesh Tamirat who took home £3000 each for their efforts across the Series.
